Ethereal Friend
Out of the blue, the ethereal places,
You came riding on words that filled the spaces
Of my hum drum life and sorry existance
Filled with repetition and such resistance
To living my life, Trapped behind fear
Of hurting myself and the ones I hold dear
With the disappointment of promises made
But never kept, of plans laid
And left bereft of contacts outside
My hovel home, which makes me ride
The endless waves of solitude
Changing then my attitude
To smiling and facing each day with joy
Happy with me and the tools I employ,
To live and create a new world each day
Working to improve and make every plan pay
Dividends on return for so much time wasted
Celebrating for now, the joys of life tasted
Sharing these feelings with those who care
Spreading the wealth to those who are there
Infecting with warmth where I can only lend
I owe this to you my ethereal friend.
